Sonic memories gathered, combined, flattened, twisted, and melded together over years. What started as a voice memo of my students at an after school youth orchestra, turned to a groove recorded on Josiah Wolf's tape machine, passed along to a new friend Madeline Kenney while on tour, finally unfolded into a song and feeling - only to sit idle for a year or two. Dusted off and spruced up, now it reminds me of being younger. A nostalgic melancholy that mostly can’t be avoided, and is often invited.
lyrics
My eyes shut / It’s like I’m coming back / My hands up / You weren't expecting that / I’m already gone / I’m big enough for this / But we had fun / that’s what I’m getting at / What’s the count on me?
